HP has expanded its “eliteness” with its 13.3-inch EliteBook x360 830 G6; which comes across as a 360-degree rotating, 2-in-1, ultra-portable convertible. What sets this EliteBook apart is the discretely stippled speaker grille that sits above keyboard.
The rotating mode implies that this laptop could be used as a tablet as well. The brightness is such that working outdoors is 100% feasible. The matte finish helps where reflective screens are found to be challenging. If not this,, the other challenge can’t be ruled out; and that’s of viewing angles. The laptop doesn’t serve viewing angles that great. As such, information sharing with someone next to you won’t be that simple.
As far as security is concerned; HP Elitebook x360 830 G6 has “Sure View”; which makes it tad difficult for any person to see the screen. However, users state that it is much more than that. On turning “Sure View” on by having tapped the F2 key; the one next to you will be compelled to almost bump the heads with you for seeing. There is a flip side to Sure View. It does dim the screen for safeguarding it.
If you are on to laptop-based presentations, video watching or video conferencing; the treble-rich speakers would help. The keyboard is good; but noisy. So, for those used to ultra-quiet working environment, this laptop may not be a good choice. One good thing is that backlight does come on typing. This brightness could be cycled via 2 levels of brightness through a function key.
EliteBook x360 830 G6’s webcam does support Windows Hello. The anti-malware software, better known as “HP Sure Sense” works such that it relies on the off-device systems for keeping itself up-to-date. At the same time, there isn’t any privacy cover with regards to webcam. The subsequent versions are expected to incorporate this feature.
HP has also taken care to deploy a long-lasting battery. The entire day at work could be spent without access to mains; if it is charged 100% a day before.
